The Department of Economic Analysis and Research (DEAR) is a specialized Department of the National Bank undertaking diversified activities for the promotion of agriculture and rural development.

Undertaking niche research projects and studies |

Conduct of International and National Seminars, Workshops, Symposia |

Publishing of Papers of topical importance |
| |

These activities lead to further acceleration in development of rural areas, highlight market opportunities for agricultural products, particularly export, paves the way for development of rural infrastructure and other rural non-farm sectors. |

| DEAR has been a proactive entity in the National Bank. Internally, it has been providing policy inputs to the Management on the basis of the conclusions of the studies conducted, in addition to promoting research through in-house as well as external sources on areas which need to be focused, in synchrony with the changing economic scenario. |

With the complement of trained experts in the conduct of monitoring, mid-term appraisal and evaluation studies of agriculture and rural development projects, DEAR has conducted about 150 studies and the reports were published by NABARD. |
