VENTURE CAPITAL FUND SCHEME FOR DAIRY/POULTRY - SPONSORED BY GoI

 
Objectives
 
To promote setting up modern dairy farms for production of clean milk
   
To bring structural changes in the unorganised dairy & poultry sectors to improve the hygiene and quality of the products.
   
For establishing the poultry breeding farms with low input technology birds and also for creating the necessary infrastructure facilities such as feed godown, feed mixing unit, egg grading, packing and storage for export, retail poultry dressing units etc.
   
Activities covered and unit cost of investments - DAIRY
 
Small dairy farms (upto 10 animals) - Rs.3.00 lakh (only for non-operation flood areas).
   
Purchase of milking machines / milko testers / bulk milk coolers (upto 2000 lr. capacity) - Rs.15.00 lakh
   
Indigenous milk products manufacturing units - upto Rs.10 lakh.
 
Dairy product transport facilities and cold chain - Rs.20 lakh.
   
Cold storage for milk/milk products - Rs.25 lakh.
   
Private veterinary clinic - Rs.2.0 lakh - Mobile Units Rs.1.50 lakh - Stationary Units
 
POULTRY
 
Breeding units for low input technology birds and Turkey/ ducks / other species of poultry - Rs.30.00 lakh.
   
Feed godown, feed unit, analytical labs - Rs.16.00 lakh
   
Marketing of poultry products (transport vehicle, cold room, etc.) - Rs.25.00 lakh.
   
Egg grading, packing and storage for export - Rs.80.00 lakh.
   
Retail poultry dressing units - Rs.5.00 lakh.
   
Egg/broiler carts - Rs.0.10 lakh.
   
Central Grower Units - Rs.20.00 lakh.
 
Eligibility
 
Farmers / individual entreprenuers, SHGs, NGOs, Cooperatives, Public and Private Sector Undertakings etc.
   
Veterinary Graduates alone will be considered for veterinary clinics.
 
Scheme funding/Pattern of Investment
 
Entrepreneur’s Contribution : 10% of total outlay.
   
Revolving Fund’s (GoI) share : 50% of total outlay - No interest
   
Bank’s share : 40% of total outlay-interest as applicable to agriculture loans
   
For regular repayments, interest paid on the bank loan will be reimbursed to an extent of 50%.
 
Implementing Institutions
 
NABARD will be the Nodal Agency for implementation of the scheme through Commercial Banks, Cooperative Banks and Regional Rural Banks.
 
Security Norms
 

The security norms will be as prescribed by Reserve Bank of India from time to time.
