Duties broadly include
¨ Formulation of farm related policies
¨ Conduct of meetings, seminars, workshops for sensitisation and awareness
¨ Appraisal of proposals, sanction of proposals, coordination, review and monitoring.
¨ Disbursement of grant and loan
- Maintenance of accounts in respect of all funds/programmes
- Submission of half yearly reports to Kfw, GoI on all externally aided projects
Powers and duties of officers and employees
The Department is on its roll different categories of staff such as, Officers (Grade B to F) and other supporting staff like Development Assistants & Office Attendents. The Junior Management cadre officeres (Grade B & C) do the intial scrutiny of the cases and put up to the higher level officers (Grade D & above) for decision making.
Decision making process
The decision making process followed in the department is as per procedure indicated in respective guidelines / instructions of the programmes/schemes valid from time to time. There is a clear cut demarcation of roles, responsibilities and discretionary powers amongst different supervisory levels and the accountability is fixed up accordingly

i) Adivasi Development Programme Gujarat & Maharashtra sponsored by KfW Germany - All powers vested with Managing Director/ Chairman.

Capacity Building Projects (CBP)
- Sanction of Capacity Building Phase (CBP) projects upto Rs.10 lakh shall be accorded by ROs .
- Sanction of CBP projects more than Rs.10 lakh shall be accorded by Executive Director in charge of DPD-FS
Sanction of grant for preparation of Feasibility Study Report
- Sanction of grant upto Rs.2.0 lakh for preparation of Feasibility Study Report shall be accorded by ROs.
- Sanction of grant more than Rs.2.0 lakh for preparation of FSR shall l be accorded by Executive Director in charge of DPD-FS.
Full Implementation Phase (FIP)
- All Full Implementation Phase (FIP) projects shall be approved by Project Sanctioning Committee under the Chairmanship of Executive Director in charge of DPD-FS.
- All FIP projects with grant/loan assistance upto Rs.40 lakhs shall l be sanctioned by Chief General Manager, DPD-FS, HO
- All FIP projects with grant/loan assistance more than Rs.40 lakh and upto Rs.75 lakh shall be sanctioned by Executive Director
- All FIP projects with grant/loan assistance more than Rs.75 lakh shall be sanctioned by Managing Director.
Disbursement of grant/loan
The disbursement of grant & loan will be made by Chief General Manager/OIC at RO for the projects under their jurdiction
