Assistance to Rural Women in Non-Farm Development (ARWIND)
Objectives
This is a single window scheme containing credit as well as promotional components of assistance for conducting skill or EDP type of training for women, establishment of production units at the sponsoring agencies level or to set up household units with loan assistance from banks.
Eligible agencies
NGOs,Women Development Corporations, KVIC, KVIB, Cooperative Societies,Trusts etc.
Eligible activities
Escort services, Common facility centers/common service centers, Setting up of mother units and expenses related to collection of products from and input supply to, as also monitoring of satellite units, organising women, product design, quality control, margin money requirements, preliminary/pre operative expenses.
Type of Assistance
The amount of assistance is upto Rs.10000/ per women . It is envisaged that women groups organised or sponsored by a suitable agency could avail bank credit normally not exceeding Rs.50000/ per woman member for setting up of an individual or a group activity. NABARD extends 100% refinance assistance to banks in respect of credit extended to women entrepreneurs under the scheme. Agency's stake is 15% of the project outlay. |
