The Challenge:

Kanchamba got married to a marginal farmer who owned a small patch of land, barely enough to feed her family of four. In 1998, this extremely poor family’s house started to break down and there was no money for repairs. Driven to mortgaging their land for borrowing Rs. 20,000 for undertaking repairs, the family was at the end of its

The Solution:

NABARD's intervention under UPNRM through VIKSAT came as a blessing to Kanchamba. She utilized the opportunity for access of credit through VIKSAT. Her prompt repayment made her the best borrower which ensured availability of additional credit for successive improvements in their livelihoods An initiative of Gujarat Regional Office BECAUSE SHE DESERVES ALL THE CREDIT.
