• Numerous instances of financial exclusion

THE SOLUTION

• NABARD assisted Kalasa PACS in becoming a multi service centre. A loan assistance of Rs 220lakh was provided to the PACS

THE IMPACT

• Opening of 3 fair price retail outlets in 3 years
• Tie-up with Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative Limited for marketing arecanuts
• Land bought and godowns constructed for facilitating postharvest operations
• Two-time increase in deposit base of PACS in 3 years
• Increase in non-credit business, thereby strengthening the PACS
