NABARD and Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 24 June 2024 at NABARD Head Office towards establishment of a framework for a cooperative and productive relationship between the parties. The MoU was signed by Shri G S Rawat, Deputy Managing Director, NABARD and Prof. Deborah Sweeney, Dy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President Research, Enterprise and International, Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia in the presence of Shri Shaji K.V., Chairman.

The memorandum signifies several collaborative activities which includes:

• Collaborative academic and industry-based research projects in climate-smart farming initiatives, carbon farming, hi-tech and next generation farming;
• Joint activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops, symposia and lectures;
• Joint research cum training Agri incubation centres;
• Collaborative opportunities for industry professionals in entrepreneurship and support start up ecosystems;
• Collaboration with water cooperatives for programs in ground water monitoring and management
