A High Level Delegation from JSCB Agrobank, Uzbekistan met with Chairman, NABARD on 02 July 2019 to explore the possible areas of mutual cooperation. The delegation comprised:
a. Mr. Sherov Abdurakhmon Sattorovich, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSCB Agrobank
b. Mr. Namozov Uchkun, Director of Project Finance Department of JSCB Agrobank
c. Mr. Yunuskhodjaev Ilkhomhuja, Director of Foreign Economic Activity Department of JSCB Agrobank
d. Mr. Botirov Salokhiddin, Deputy Head of Financing Agriculture Enterprise Department of JSCB Agrobank
e. Mr. Kakhramon Muminov, Head of Correspondent Relations and Documentary Operations of JSCB Agrobank
The meeting was also participated by CGMs of CPD, DoR, DEAR & FSPD alongwith senior officers from CPD and NABCONS. The delegation was interested in understanding the role of NABARD in Agriculture and Rural Development in India.
Chairman, NABARD spoke on the establishment of NABARD and its ownership. He highlighted the role of NABARD in agriculture sector with specific reference to Watersheds. The focus of NABARD in integrated development of rural areas, women, small and marginal farmers as also agro and food processing industries was also highlighted. He touched upon NABARD subsidiaries and mentioned about the consultancy role of NABCONS. He also mentioned about the role of BIRD in capacity building of banks in rural areas and setting up of Centres of Excellence.
CGM, DoR deliberated with the guests and spoke at length about the banking structure in India. He also apprised the delegates that BIRD could design training programmes for JSCB Agrobank for Climate Change project financing. CGM, CPD highlighted the areas of cooperation through NABCONS for business process re-engineering of JSCB Agrobank.
CGM, FSPD spoke on the role of NABARD as NIE for UNFCCC and Direct Access Entity for Green Climate Fund. He indicated that NABARD could help prepare JSCB Agrobank as NIE for UNFCCC. CGM, DEAR enquired about the possibility of waste management and solar energy consultancy. GM, CPD, while welcoming the delegation, outlined the topics of mutual interest like financing of Agri sector and Govt. incentives for agri sector. DGM, CPD made a presentation on Overview of NABARD covering all the major areas of NABARD. Vice President NABCONS gave a overview of activities of NABCONS.
The delegation expressed interest in collaborating with NABARD and also indicated that an exposure visit to Uzbekistan could be organized for a High Level Delegation from NABARD for mutual cooperation.
