Brassware from Bakhira is a traditional craft which is reflected in a wide range of artistic tools and objects, including bowls, plates, glasses, jugs, vases, bells, and more. The genuine Indian workmanship is represented in these brass handicrafts.
The artform
The fact that up to 80% of the scrap used by Bakhira metal makers is made up of repurposed kitchenware which is used to produce new utensils is what makes it special. Brass is an alloy made of copper and zinc, and the percentage composition of each metal determines the metal's quality. A group of talented artisans with extensive knowledge in a variety of fields are needed to complete the work of creating brassware.
