Guledgudd Khana Saree

Guledgudd Khana is a well-recognized wear of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Folklore suggests that the invention of this Guledgudd Khana blouse piece can be traced to the Chalukya Dynasty in the eighth century when it was offered to the goddess together with a saree.

The artform

Khana is a textile made from cotton and viscose silk threads. This fabric has lovely and distinctive motif patterns that give it a glistening, opulent appearance. The traditional Ilkal saree and the fabric, worn as a blouse, go together perfectly. However, as Khana fabric gained in popularity, it is currently utilized to create sarees, dupattas, pillowcases, and other ornamental things for the home.
