The Kari Ishad mango is prominently grown in Ankola taluk of Uttara Kannada. It is considered one of the finest quality mangoes due to its unique aroma, luscious taste, high amount of pulp, shape, and size.

The produce

Kari Ishad mango has two varieties, Kari Ishad (thin skin) and Bililshad (thick skin). The mango is harvested from mid-May. The Kari Ishad mangoes are large, oblique to oval in shape, and a mature tree can yield around 2000 fruits in a season.
