NABARD to extend loans to SHGs

As part of a move to strengthen the self-help groups (SHG), the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has extended loans to four joint liability groups (JLG) at Katriyala village in Ramayampet mandal for dairy development on Saturday.
 
NABARD AGM G. Ramesh Kumar revealed that loans would be extended to as many as 108 groups.
 
“Popularly known as the SGH-II initiative, the model was approved by all three DCCs of Medak, Sangareddy and Siddipet districts. About 948 JLGs or producers groups were formed with a majority focusing on dairy activities. These groups will be credit linked with the help of rural development department and banks facilitating setting up of micro enterprises under dairy and other activities,” he added.
 
The entrepreneurs would be trained by Rural Self Employment Training Institutes of Andhra Bank in Siddipet and SBI in Sangareddy.
 
DCCB CEO M. Srinivas, Medak LDM Nagaraju and others participated in the programme.
