ITANAGAR, 18 Sep: A 30-day NABARD-sponsored skill development training for the unemployed youth commenced at Paglam in Lower Dibang Valley district on Saturday.
A total of 50 unemployed youths of Pagalam area will be imparted the required knowledge and skills to become retail sales associates.
NABARD District Development Manager Nitya Mili, who launched the training, advised all the trainees to attend the training sincerely and learn about the employability skills.
He also advised the Future Vision NGO, the implementing agency for the training programme, to follow up on the trainees for a period of one year so that the objectives of the training viz. self-employment and income generation are met.
The SBI’s Roing branch chief manager, the lead district manager, the chairman of the Future Vision and village representatives from Paglam were present on the occasion.
A session on financial literacy was also conducted by SBI Roing in order to guide the trainees regarding the loan availing process and to facilitate credit to the desirable candidates applying for loan.
