NABARD watershed works launched

RAJANNA-SIRCILLA: Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar formally launched the works on participatory watershed development projects in the upper reaches of Manair river basin falling in 11 villages of Gambhiraopet mandal by taking up ground breaking works in a farm. The project is being taken up by Karimnagar DCCB and the Gambhiraopeta PACS with the assistance of NABARD. had taken up participatory watershed development projects in the upper reaches of Manair river basin falling in 11 villages of Gambhiraopet mandal. Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar formally launched the works by conducting ground breaking ceremony for digging a farm pond in a farmer’s field in Gajasingavaram village of the mandal. The three watershed projects covering 11,850 acres in a cluster of 11 villages were taken up at a cost of ₹3 crore from NABARD.
 
He said that they would series of soil erosion structures including trenching and bunding, network of farm ponds, recharge of open wells and bore well etc as part of the projects. Telangana state cooperative bank chairman K Ravinder Rao, Collector Krishna Bhaskar, NABARD DGM Subhash Chandra, AGM R Ravi Babu, DCCB vice chairman P Mohan Reddy, DCCB CEO Satyanarayana Rao and others were also present.
