Arunachal lauds NABARD for Support

In order to discuss various issues pertaining to the association of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) with the Arunachal Pradesh Government

ITANAGAR: In order to discuss various issues pertaining to the association of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) with the Arunachal Pradesh Government, State Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar along with senior officers on Wednesday had a meeting with NABARD chairman Dr GR Chintala at the civil secretariat here.

The Chief Secretary lauded the significant support that the NABARD provided to the State Government , which has a huge impact on the overall development of the State vis-a-vis infrastructure, agriculture, horticulture and other allied sectors.

Talking about the contribution of NABARD to the overall development of the State, Kumar stated that the bank has been working as an instrument of cooperative federalism in the State as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been firmly advocating cooperative federalism from 2014. He hoped that the relation between the State Government and NABARD would be further strengthened with the visit of the chairman to the State.

The Chief Secretary further hoped that the NABARD would play an important role in realizing the Act East Policy of the Centre and tap the potential of the Northeastern States in general, and Arunachal Pradesh in particular, to the fullest through their various expertise ventures.

The NABARD chairman said that the bank is willing to give more than the State's expectations.
