A district level workshop on Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (DEDS) was organized by NABARD at Pfutsero, Phek on July 3. 

 

A press release from NABARD, stated that farm manager, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Dr. Diko Nusory discussed on technical aspects of dairy farming and highlighted the limited infrastructures available in the district, while LDM, SBI, Birjeet Singh spoke on dairy financing focusing on group mode like Self Help Groups (SHG). 

District development manager, NABARD, Imsunaro, also presented in detail on DEDS, launched by the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, GoI, in collaboration with NABARD. 

 

She deliberated on objectives of credit linked subsidy scheme, eligible beneficiaries, pattern of assistance and various components that can be financed under the scheme citing indicative unit cost and subsidy ceiling etc and further called upon all stakeholders to coordinate for successful implementation at the ground level.
