THE CHALLENGE

• Acute water scarcity
• Insufficient water in existing bore wells and infiltration wells to cater to growing demand
• Providing regular supply of clean water

THE SOLUTION

• NABARD sanctioned a loan assistance under RIDF for augmenting water supply to cover additional habitations
• Clear water transmission mains were laid to cater to more households
• Service reservoirs equipped with distribution systems were constructed
• Additional infrastructure for pump sets

THE IMPACT

• Project has benefited nearly 900 habitations in 8 blocks in Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts
• 16 out of 23 panchayats around Coimbatore corporation now get 135 litres per person per day
