The 216th meeting of the Board of Directors of NABARD was held on 06 March 2017 in North Block, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi. The Hon'ble Finance Minister, Shri Arun Jaitley addressed the Board of Directors and appreciated the efforts made by NABARD in terms of expanded volume in diversified activities. He emphasised that real growth will come from rural sector especially from the Eastern States of the country in the coming decades. These areas will attract large resource deployment. It will ensure economic growth and improve economic status of the countrymen. NABARD will have a key role to play on both these aspects. He wished NABARD success in all its endeavors.

 

The meeting was also attended by Ms. Anjuly Chib Duggal, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. Dr Harsh Kumar Bhanwala, Chairman, NABARD made a brief presentation on various initiatives taken and future strategies for NABARD.
