JLGs/SBGs(Joint Liability Groups/Small Business Groups) within SHGs to be encouraged to take up Dairy activity under Tripartite Agreement with Vijaya Dairy and Banks with the help of NABARD and Rural Development Department

 

 

The SHG Bank Linkage Programme started with 500 groups in 1992 has now reached 86 lakh groups savings linked  in the country with a bank deposits of Rs. 16114.23  crore and 48.48  lakh credit linked SHGs with outstanding bank loans of Rs. 61000 crore. The total credit flow to SHGs during 2016-17 in the State of Telangana is Rs.7500 crore with 3.27 lakh groups credit linked with average per group loan outstanding of Rs.2.15 lakhs. 

 

In order to expand economic/business activities of SHGs and to encourage entrepreneurship/livelihood activities among SHGs, NABARD in collaboration with all Banks is promoting JLGs/Producer/Small Business Groups within matured SHGs. This will help in increasing in accessing higher doses of credit by interested members of group for economic/livelihood activities and graduating themselves into micro enterpreneurs.

 

Popularly known as SGH II initiative, the model was approved by all three DCCs of Medak, Sangareddy and Siddipet districts and 948 JLGs/SBGs/Producers Groups were formed with majority focusing on Dairy activities. These groups will be credit linked with the help of Rural Development Department and Banks facilitating setting up of micro enterprises under Dairy and other activities. These entrepreneurs will be trained by Rural Self Employment Training Institutes of Andhra Bank, Siddipet and SBIRSETI, Sangareddy

 

As a first step under this initiative, Andhra Bank has issued sanction letters to 6 SBGs of Siddipet and the letters were handed over by Shri Harish Rao Garu, Hon’ble Minister for Irrigation, Marketing and Legislative Affairs on 14.12.2017 at Integrated Collectrate Complex, Siddipet for various Business activities.

Taking the initiative further, DCCB has come forward to support 108 Dairy JLG groups of SHGs and Rs.20 lakhs to 04 such groups were disbursed to day.

 

Speaking on the occasion G.Ramesh Kumar, AGM, NABARD congratulated DCCB  and all Stakeholders and wished that the women may turn as micro entrepreneurs and improve their income levels. He desired that all banks may ground the 948 Dairy JLGs in Old Medak District facilitating improved income and livelihoods for Women Shri M. Srinivas, CEO, DCCB and Shri Nagaraju, LDM, Medak appreciated the efforts of NABARD for extending support to NGOs for forming SHGs, capacity building of bankers, NGOs/ VAs, training the SHG members in setting up micro enterprises and livelihood promotion through MEDP and LEDP.
