The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned 100 crore for the establishment of 10,000 farm ponds across Nagapattinam district, according to the district collector, Dr S. Sureshkumar.

 

In a release at Nagapattinam on Tuesday, he said under this massive project, the district administration has decided to establish 812 farm ponds at an estimated cost of 8.12 crore with cent per cent subsidy at Thirumarugal, Nagapattinam, Keelaiyur, Thalaiganayiru, Vedharanyam, Keelvelur, Mayiladuthurai, Kuthalam, Sembanaarkovil, Sirkazhi, and Kollidam. The interested and eligible farmers of these areas can approach the concerned officials and avail this scheme, he added.
