Rural haat inaugurated in Angangba village
Dimapur | July 2019
Dimapur, July 25 (EMN): Rural marketing haat at Angangba village under Tuensang district was inaugurated on July 25. The rural marketing haat was built with the support of NABARD and implemented by the Angangba village council with technical support from Better Life Foundation- a non-profit working with local farmers.

The rural haat is a marketing/sales platform for Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) to nurture the capacity of the locals and improve their access to market.

NABARD Deputy General Manager (DGM), SC Sahoo, along with the head GB of Angangba village, C Tokyu, inaugurated the rural marketing haat.

The marketing haat, built next to the NH 202, will act as the primary collection centre of agricultural and horticultural produce for Angangba as well as marketing site for the produce of the local farmers. Angangba village currently has more than 50 farmers who have been shifted to sustainable horticulture with the intervention of NABARD’s under tribal development fund ‘Wadi project.’

The rural haat is expected to empower the farmer through the sale of their primary produce such as apples, kiwi and cardamom.
