President Murmu: President of India Droupadi Murmu on her visit to Mayurbhanj district on 04th May 2023 took some time off her busy schedule to inaugurate one Tribal Development Project, one livelihood project on Mushroom cultivation and a Community Centre supported by NABARD at Pahadpur village in the august presence of Hon’ble Governor of Odisha. Chairman, NABARD and Chief General Manager, NABARD, Odisha Regional Office were also present on the occasion.
President of India on the occasion congratulated NABARD on the efforts it is putting for holistic development of agriculture and rural development even in the remotest parts of the country. She urged Government officials, NABARD, Banks and NGOs and all other stakeholders to go an extra mile and work in a coordinated manner for bringing about overall development of rural areas.
NABARD is a fully owned Government of India organization dedicated for agriculture and rural development in the country.
The Tribal Development Project will touch the lives of 100 tribal families of Pahadpur village and another 400 families from the adjoining villages. The aim of the project is to increase the annual income of each family to Rs.1 lakh from one acre of land. Mango and Cashew plantation is proposed to be taken up in the project area.An amount of Rs.5.16 crore is being provided by NABARD as grant assistance for the implementation of the project.
The livelihood project covers 90 SHG women from Pahadpur village. An amount of Rs.10.00 lakh has been sanctioned by NABARD for this activity. Under the project training and capacity building will be provided to the women for taking up mushroom cultivation.
A Community Centre will also be set upat Pahadpur village supported by NABARD. The project is expected to play an important role as a training hall for social developmental programmes in the village.
All the activities inaugurated by President of India will be uplifting the lives of the rural poor of Pahadpur village and help them in creating a sustainable future for them.
